Midsumma returns to greet the New Year down under. The annual festival of community culture has been a staple of Australian life for just over twenty years: this week sees the opening of the first theatre shows and exhibitions. Best of all is the heady mix of Carnival andT Party on Sunday...a regular highlight. Bring your arms, legs, hands and feet to play. You'll need 'em. Among the major presentations is an actual same-sex wedding celebration: very topical. Hope the weather holds... and that  there's plenty of drink, too. Lap it up!
