Laura is a UCL alumna, bibliophile, and one of Coffee Cake and Kink's Editorial Interns. An occasional yogini, indecisive crafter, and with a magpie's tendency to discover new favourite hobbies at a rate of knots, it's impossible to say what she's up to right now. In a perfect world, she'd be master of the crane asana, an accomplished knitwear designer, and a juggling performance artist in her spare time. Currently, she's too busy exploring Japanese anime, re-learning to hula-hoop, and exploring new corners of the city. When she's not cracking her editorial whip, she likes to relax with her adoring Mr Ed and catch a bit of live music.

Questions we asked:

Coffee

I take my coffee black, white or frappe - it really depends on my mood. I've just bought a milk frother, so I'll be happily experimenting with that for the next few weeks!

Cake

If I was a dessert, I would be a rainbow cake: as many layers as possible with handcrafted icing on top.

Kinks: Interests, Quirks or Peculiarities

I have far too many 'kinks' to name, but my current obsessions are anime & manga and contact juggling, and I plan to get into pole-dancing and photography as soon as I'm settled in London.

What attracted you to Coffee, Cake & Kink? (Why CCK?)

I thought that working for CCK would be exciting; challenging, fun, memorable and a great social talking point! I wanted to work for an organisation that I care about and that had the first intern opportunity I've been inspired to apply for this year.

What were you doing before you joined us?

I was made redundant a few months before joining CCK, but prior to that I worked as an Assistant Manager at an art-supplies shop, where I met loads of lovely creative people.

What's your favourite way to wake up and what's the first thing you do?

To sunshine instead of an alarm, and the first thing I'd do is kiss my boyfriend and put the radio on - I love music in the mornings (or any time for that matter).

What's your favourite thing to do on a Saturday night?

Live music in a crowded pub, or a romantic dinner in a new restaurant.

What are you reading right now?

The Etymologicon, by Mark Forsyth.

What was the last thing you ate that you really shouldn't?

Indian takeaway while supposedly on a diet.

What is stashed under your bed/mattress?

Too many pairs of shoes...

Have you got any bad habits? :)

I'm too much of a magpie: I want to do it all, and sadly there aren't 48 hours in the day...
